These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Ledger (the “Service”) (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
The Service
Ledger is a double-entry accounting application for recording, organizing, and reporting on your business finances, including the ability to import bank transactions via Plaid. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Your account
You are responsible for the information you provide, for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials (including any multi-factor authentication), and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- access data that is not yours, or attempt to breach or probe the Service’s security;
- upload malicious code or interfere with the operation of the Service; or
- reverse engineer or resell the Service without our consent.
Bank connections (Plaid)
When you connect a financial account, you authorize us and our provider Plaid to access and import your account and transaction data as described in our Privacy Policy and Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy. You may disconnect at any time.
Not financial, legal, or tax advice
Ledger is bookkeeping software, not a substitute for a qualified accountant, auditor, attorney, or tax advisor. You are responsible for the accuracy of your records and for your own financial, legal, and tax decisions. Automated categorization and reports are provided as tools and may require your review.
Your data
You retain ownership of the data you put into the Service. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, and display it in order to operate the Service for you. We handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
Availability
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
